Had a lovely day today. Our Sunday mornings always start at our local market!  ''Wonderful''coffee, fresh flowers & a love of old things.Thank goodness my husband enjoys buying the fruit & vegg. So I can be in my element, secondhand vintage stalls, LoVe them! when I came across these lovely things, I had to have them!

Sunday in Surfers Paradise

 Stormy clouds,cold!..what better way to spend our Sunday!
 My young Chinese home stay student's and myself set of for
 the beach and a walk around Surfers.
''oh yes'' I didn't forget my best friend my 'camera'
 The boys had a wonderful time,Eyes wide open!
 walking on the beach,seeing the sights,beach markets
then it was time for their first Aussy burger.
Elvis was singing on stage,near the beach well many Elvis'sss
 Was a great show.
 Lovely hot chi latte,and thank goodness my beanie!

Today my husbands daughter left for a new adventure in another country half away around the world.
I started to think about my parent's specially my mother who left her home land with five children, two older children and three younger children arriving in Australia 1964.
to start a new life.Yes we were one of the thousands who migrated to Australia as the ten pound poms!

Leaving her mother, father and five sibling's nieces & nephews & friend's.

My mother loved Australia

with all her heart,but I know there were times she was very homesick & in those days mail took a long time to arrive & few and far between.She received a letter to let her know her mother had passed away seven week earlier..I couldn't imagine how that must of felt for her.But in true spirit my mum rallied on in her new home Australia,she had many jobs from making phone cables to stuffing chicken's to losing her job in a nursing home back in 1966 for standing up to the boss for feeding the elderly...what looked like cat food.
(my mother! I really do need to do a blog just on her) Anyhow today you can travel
the world and almost take your family& friends with you with the wonderful internet-Skype,Facebook.. how lucky our we with this wonderful technology.
So to ''Annie'' go on your new journey with all our LoVe Knowing we are really all going with you!!

   

''happy-birthday'' home sweet home...........

27 Year's ago today 4 th of July....I remember it well,we had two beautiful little girls & one on the way,very exciting, we had no garden, dirt as a balcony,no drive way,window's with the timber around the wrong way
 ( don't ask) but in side was my dream, it was all new,lovely pink carpet, pink walls,pink curtain's.
there was no wall up between the children's bedrooms so it was like a massive play room & yes all pink....well I thought we were going to have our very own St Trinian's....was I surprised yep a lovely baby boy and three years later an other baby boy...so as you can imagine this home has been a wonderful homely home to raise children in! Now & again I hear/see the children playing with their bikes & scooters up & down the hall way on rainy days,(Ow silly me its now our grandchildren) & the girls trying on their Nana's cloths and wigs,yes we even had room for nana !by the way, will still ended up with St Trinian's nana & the girls!!!..over the years it has had many many changes & PAINT on the walls.Funny my sister in law would always comment, ow ''Pamela'' darling are you bored again! She had never know any body paint as much as I did.....how could I get bored, honestly!!
4 kids,a husband,who knew how to build thing's but just not at this address,still waiting ''honey'' for the built in wardrobe you promised (27) two dogs,cat probably a bird or two, a ''mum'' who was always getting lost & was madly in love with our neighbor who was seven years younger than me!!! plus the mail man & who ever else was in the !! (now thats a another BLOG)!!! back to the house!I do get great enjoyment out of painting. Sometimes mass of changes,did occur from the pink to blue to green,grey ow and my yellow days emm!!!
looking back today I can see my lovely sister in law had a point!!!

Mr ''Giggles''.............

Hia... Great start to my day, woke up this morning thinking to myself I must go for a walk & maybe try  a little jogging, specially after  my phone conversation with my daughter the previous night, we got on the topic ok I got on the topic of why do women  of a certain age ok ok over fifty get a more rounded belly and fuller or rounder hips, even if you are not over weight!! My beautiful daughter in a nice about way, informed me its a wine belly ''mum'' ......Me with a wine belly (never)I only have a small red & not even a full glass & not every evening!! but never the less my ''darling '' daughter did make me think, I must do more yes you guessed it ''walking''.....so back to bed I ''walked' ready to snuggle up,with a wonderful book 'Louise Hays'....  when my other half shouts lets go for a walk! in shock, like my other half  had been in side my head,its always been I who is the mind reader, always telling him that I know him better than he knows himself.Well not this morning.......off we go in our runners,admiring all the other joggers flying past us,have to admit it was lovely,
 we walked & talked and on our return walk home, we took the horse track along the river,the ducks & swans were a lovely sight to see,
I suggested we sit for a moment, as I started to tell him,about Deepak Chopra,who I have been reading & listening to lately,(new age guru) as I explained we hold our hands out a little then take a breath,with our eyes closed saying the word's, ''so hum'' ''so hum'' ''so hum'' un till our minds are in deep meditation.we never got to meditate, as for every ''so hum'' some one got the giggles then we both got them & could hardly get back up on our feet to walk back home,anyhow thank you Deepak its been a while since we both had a a good belly laugh, emm belly laugh sound's a whole lot better than a wine belly?........

Land of sweeping plains

HiA! just arrived back from a trip to Gladstone to visit my daughter & her family had a well deserved  time out, lots & lots of fun........ if you ever get the time, take a ''train trip'' as I have many times,its around six hours,I never get sick of the view, funny how this time around it seamed more beautiful than before, I was thinking of Dorothea Mackellar ,and her famous poem I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains I love her far horizons. Beautiful words, looking out my train window I imagined how she felt writing that poem....lunchtime I had a glass of red & ready for this ''popcorn''& my favorite chocolate yummy what a wonderful trip back home...ok have to go for now husband needs food....heeheee
